Apple Hill Run - October 20th

What a perfectly wonderful day for a ride.  We started out at the Byron Inn for breakfast.  13 cars were there.  Boy did that wake up that town.  Thank you for all dressing up your cars with the patriotic theme.

At 9:30 (after selling some decals) we all paraded thru Byron (yes, I did get a phone call because of all the Miatas while we were driving thru town!) of course in style - first 3 cars were red, white and blue - and took a small detour to Stockton Mazda.  It was John's birthday.  For those of you who have not taken advantage of the 20% discount on parts you should go meet John!

From there it was a lovely ride through the valley.  Can we somehow ban campers?  Amazing going through the little towns in the valley that there were at least one group selling flags and memorabilia on street corners.  Made it up the hill and, due to technical difficulties (maybe cuz the leader was riding alone?) there was a minor detour, which led us to an empty lot to hang a "U"ey.  There was a certain GREEN car that got in between the red car and the white car.  Had a lot of fun going through the little towns on 49.  Most of the campers were wonderful and pulled over for us.  It was so much fun going ZOOM ZOOM - I wouldn't know who but on the stretches that we could, well, lets just say some of us had fun seeing what our cars could do.

Got to Apple Hill.  We weren't the only ones up there!  We tried to stay together but it was too crazy.  What a deal on fruit!  Did anyone visit the candy store too?  Saw many wonderful looking apple pies, candied apples - and they were on Weight Watchers that Saturday.  I checked.

Hope everyone enjoyed the run.  I had a great time.  Want to take a moment to thank Shirley and Ken for bringing up the rear.  We were the only ones to have CB's.  Just a note - if you have a CB it is always a good idea to bring them on a run.
