I have to admit that I am intrigued by the Titanic. I traveled to
Chicago to see the exhibit there that included a part of the hull of the
ship as well as parts of staterooms and personal belongings that have
been salvaged. So when I read that an exhibit was coming to
Blackhawk Museum, I thought that would make a great Miata event (oh yes,
they do have wonderful cars at the museum too!).
So on September 16, 2001, we are taking a trip to the Blackhawk Auto
Museum. We will be parking our cars in the plaza (the circle in
front of the museum) and need to be there by 12:30 p.m. Bob has a
route all picked out so meet us at PeeWee's in Brentwood at 11 am.
For those of you who want to just meet us at the museum, the directions
can be found on their web site -
www.blackhawkmuseum.org.
If there are 15 or more of us (people not cars) then we get the
discounted fee of $6 (else it is $8).
A docent will be guiding us through the auto museum and the Titanic
exhibit - bring your cameras, the cars are beautiful. After our
tour, we can get lunch in one of the many restaurants located in the
plaza. (Did I mention there are lots of really neat shops there
too?).
Please RSVP to me at 925-634-8765 or
blretzer@yahoo.com no
later than September 9, 2001. Come on along - it'll be
lots of fun!
