expired. As Kath mentioned, it took us awhile to trust her again.

Kathy:   Did I mention Bruce was driving?!

Has Emmy had any modifications?

Kathy:   She hasn't had any engine or exhaust modifications, just style add-ons.  She had a grill protector and headlight/fog light savers installed the first week.  For my birthday Bruce took me to Crazy Red Italian's for air horns and Racing Beat style bar.  In March, Bruce was kind enough to install Emmy's teeth from autoexpressions.com.

Bruce: And what a fine set of chompers she has.

What prompted you and Bruce to join Delta Miata Club?

Kathy:  This is a good story.  After Emmy was in the shop in August and September I began looking into the California Lemon Law.  I was working as an I.T. manager at a law firm and began asking attorneys questions about what I was going through with my car.  They suggested I learn more about the problem.  I was also interested in learning more about the #4 Thrust Bearing problem and the Miata in general.  I put a post in a newsgroup with Bruce's help.  I heard from someone who directed me to miata.net.  I thought I had died and gone to heaven.  A gazillion Miata people in one location on the net…AWESOME!  I begin reading posts on the forum and learn more and more about the #4 problem.  I ventured over to the general chat area and noticed someone named "California Red" from Brentwood, CA.  Wow a local Miata person.  I also read a post where this "California Red" person was having gallbladder surgery.  So, I sent a hello, get well soon message and the next thing I know we are swapping stories via email.  We decided to get together with our spouses for dinner.  Bob and his lovely wife Betty asked us whether we had interest in a local club.  Our ears perked up since we are BAMA members but the activities are too far for us to go.  In December we received a postcard announcing the meeting to possibly creating a local club and the rest is history.  It is a privilege to be included as one of the founding members of DMC.

Bruce: Ditto - it's been great to meet local Miata folks!

What have you enjoyed most about Delta Miata Club?

Kathy:  I have enjoyed the runs but most of all the Miata talk before and after events. I have learned a lot.  It has also been fun watching the club membership grow in less than six months of existence.

Bruce: Driving back from Mt Hamilton!

What's in store once you get to Boise with Emmy?

Kathy:  We bought a home on 10.58 acres outside of Boise in the mountains.  We are 20 minutes from Boise.  The plan is to join Les Bois Miata Club.  I have already been in touch and they are looking forward to our joining.  Miata people are some of the nicest people and Boise people are wonderful folks.  I see a lot of Miata fun in our future.  This club does an annual run to Yellowstone that lasts about five days. I am also planning to go to Deals Gap next year to meeting up with a group of online Miata buddies.

The hardest part of moving away is missing friends and family, including those members in the club we have grown to know and like a great deal.  The second hardest part will be parking Emmy in the garage and covering her for the winter.  That will tear me apart…I know it!

Bruce: The four-wheel drive mod.

We want to say goodbye to all the members of Delta Miata Club.  We will miss you, the events and fellowship.  We will also check-in and read the newsletters.  We wish you lots of safe driving, sunshine and fun.  Happy Miata-ing!
