Mark your
calendars for an event for Sunday, April 29, 2001. For those of
you who cannot attend the Death Valley Daze event, we are offering this
as an alternative. Please join us if you can.
It is time for the annual Asparagus Festival in Stockton. I have
to admit that I do not like green things (unless it is money shaped) but
I do like having a good time. And this should be lots of fun!
Asparagus margaritas anyone?? In addition to asparagus, there is
a craft show (now that caught my fancy).
So let's all meet at PeeWee's in Brentwood at 9 a.m. on the 29th and
convoy to West 8 Mile Road in Stockton (which is an exit off of Highway
5 and right before the park) where we can meet up with everyone coming
from that direction (about 10:30 a.m.). We will pick up the Byron,
Discovery Bay and Tracy folks along our drive from Brentwood (unless you
want to join us at PeeWee's) - let's meet at Geno's Country Store
parking lot at the junction of Byron Highway and Highway 4 (about 9:15
a.m.).
Entrance to the festival is $8.00 per person, $5.00 for seniors and
parking is $3.00. If it is anything like the Garlic Festival in
Gilroy, this will be a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Please RSVP to Bob and Betty Retzer at 925-634-8765 or email at
bob@miatadriver.com and let us
know that you will be going with us and where we should expect to meet
you.
